Blade Cuts Through City of Hull
The city of Hull can now breathe a huge sigh of relief, as they managed to successfully transport a 28 tonne, 75m long wind turbine blade into the city centre, unscathed.
Travelling from the Siemens factory at Alexandra Dock to Queen Victoria Square in Hull city centre, this piece was created as part of Hull’s 2017 City of Culture celebrations by artist Nayan Kulkarni.
The impact of Siemens on the city’s economic resurgence has been significant – investing £300 million into the regional manufacturing plant.
